- Submariner, the world's first diver's watch, was released in 1953 and remains an immensely popular standard diver's watch for ROLEX, even more than 50 years later. The combination of the sharp black dial and metal-lined indices results in a simple yet sporty design, and it's easy to see why so many fans are drawn to its refined face. The front of the case is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel, which allows for measuring the remaining oxygen in the tank and timing the dive while diving. It is powered by the same automatic Cal. 3135 movement as Datejust, and its Oyster case and Triplelock crown provide water resistance to 300m.
