Maintenance flow
To ensure that you can enjoy your pre-owned watches with complete peace of mind, we provide thorough maintenance once they arrive at our store.
This section introduces the maintenance process that guarantees our ‘premium quality.
-
1. Arrival
The main procurement routes for used goods are "purchasing from wholesalers," "dealer auctions," and "purchasing from individual customers."
Rather than selling all purchased watches at retail, we only sell those that meet the strict production quality standards set by our company through maintenance. -
2. Operational, accuracy and exterior check
We carefully inspect the operation and accuracy of every watch that arrives at our store.
In addition to checking basic functions, such as crown operation and hand movement, we also test advanced features like calendar disc switching, chronograph functions, and GMT. Accuracy and balance swing angle are measured using a dedicated timing device.
We also conduct a thorough exterior inspection, checking for scratches, dents, discoloration, misaligned hands, rust, corrosion on the dial, chipped crystals, bracelet stretch, and the condition of leather straps.” -
3. Internal inspection
A watch repair technician will open the back cover with a special tool and inspect the condition of the movement.
While the term ‘inspection’ may sound broad, it actually covers a wide range of checks.
"Are the gears and other parts clean or chipped?" "Is there enough lubricant remaining?" "Is the lubricant dirty or dry?" etc. The diameter of a movement is just over 3cm. Internal inspections are where the repair technician's skill is put to the test, as they must keep an eye on even the smallest details, such as the ruby pits and the pallets of the pallet.
If this internal inspection reveals any abnormalities, insufficient lubrication, or poor accuracy, the watch will need to be overhauled.
For quartz watches, we not only replace the battery but also carefully check the electrical characteristics of the circuit and residual magnetism. -
4. Overhaul
If an internal inspection reveals any abnormalities, the watch will undergo an overhaul, which involves disassembling the movement, cleaning each component, applying fresh lubricant, and reassembling the parts.
Overhaul Flow
Each intricately designed piece is disassembled, pre-washed with a brush, and then reassembled with precise lubrication, ensuring no distortion or misalignment occurs. This step truly tests the skill of a watch repair technician.
Overhauls are essential to keep your watch functioning flawlessly and to preserve it as a cherished item for years to come. Having your watch serviced by a skilled technician can breathe new life into it. -
5. Polished (Exterior Grinding)
The finishing process involves inspecting for scratches, disassembling the exterior, pre-washing, removing scratches, polishing to a finish, cleaning, and reassembly.
Polished Flow
First, the location and depth of any scratches are checked. After that, the movement is removed, and the strap, bezel, crystal, push buttons, etc. are removed. The disassembled parts are then ultrasonically cleaned to remove any dirt, and polishing begins. First, a rough buff is used to remove scratches, and then each part is polished to a different finish, such as hairline or mirror finish. Once polishing is complete, any dirt that has accumulated during polishing is removed using ultrasonic cleaning. Once cleaning is complete, the water is completely dried, and the watch is reassembled and completed. Polishing the exterior restores the watch to its original shine. A water resistance test is also conducted at the same time.
Furthermore, if there are any noticeable scratches on parts that cannot be polished, such as glass, we will replace them with new components. -
6. Cleaning or replacing the strap
Leather straps can be cleaned and washed to keep them in good condition again.
Special oils and treatments may be used to restore the original beauty of the leather.
If the strap is difficult to restore even after cleaning, we will replace it with a new strap. -
7. Final inspection
Once all maintenance is complete, we are one step away from achieving premium quality. A final, rigorous inspection is carried out before the product is put on the shelves.
We will recheck the watch’s operation and accuracy, as well as inspect its exterior condition.
At this stage, we prepare a report for mail-order customers detailing the maintenance performed and the extent of any scratches.” -
8. Protective wrapping for your watch
As the products will be displayed in-store, they are protected with a special plastic wrap to prevent damage.
In order to preserve the watch's original shape and texture, the wrapping is applied as thinly as possible and without wrinkles. -
9. In-store display
Only "premium quality" watches that have undergone this meticulous maintenance are passed on to the next customer. Of course, even when they are displayed in-store, they are handled with the utmost care by our professionals, so you can shop with confidence.”
