Born from the idea of aviator Alberto Santos Dumont to "make it easier to read while flying", the Santos was released with a novel design of square shape at a time when only circular pocket watches existed. It features an octagon-shaped bezel and case shape that are not found in the current model, and is highly popular even after production ends.
