- The SEIKO Quartz Astron 2010, unveiled at Baselworld 2010 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of Quartz watches, is based on the design of the SEIKO Quartz Astron 35SQ, the world's first Quartz watch released in 1969, but with a modern twist. The dial features 40 "crystal marks" established in 1972, and the background is stamped with a hexagonal pattern resembling a quartz crystal. The minute markers, which are usually lines or circles, are also hexagonal. The case uses SEIKO unique alloy "Bright Titanium," and the case back has a special structure in which it encases the case body. The movement is equipped with the world's highest-level Quartz caliber 9F62 with an annual deviation of 10 seconds. The number of units to be sold worldwide is 200, of which 20 will be sold in Japan.
