- The "Luminor Destro" was created as a Mage to the historic timepieces worn by heroes in the line of duty. Its roots go back to the history of PANERAI, which supplied nautical instruments and watches for the Italian Navy's special diving units. At that time, the crew wore a compass and dipstick on their left wrist and a distinctive PANERAI watch on their right wrist, and in response to this operating style, the first left-handed model appeared in the 1960s. It was highly practical for use with instruments and was a technological innovation that met the needs of divers. The movement is powered by the P.5000 Hand Winding calibre, which boasts a power reserve of up to 8 days. The dial is engraved in Italian with the words "8 Giorni" (8 days), symbolizing its staying power, and the reliability and functionality that the special forces of the time demanded have been passed down to this day.
