- The brand is led by independent watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. His collections, which fuse classical design with modern practicality, have garnered high praise both domestically and internationally. This particular model, released in 2023, was created based on an idea Asaoka received when he encountered a raw jadeite stone during a visit to the area known as the "Jade Coast" in Toyama Prefecture. The dial features a pale green reminiscent of jadeite. To express this jadeite color in a watch, Asaoka went through numerous prototypes. He eventually arrived at a technique of layering multiple colors like pointillism, successfully reproducing even the delicate nuances unique to natural stone. The soft texture created by the unique pointillism and the contrast with the radially guilloché-decorated sub-dials harmonize exquisitely. The result is an impressive timepiece that conveys depth and dynamism within its tranquility.
