Repair process flow

  1. Check the movement of the hands and the ease of operation.

  First, we'll use the crown to check its operation, the movement of the hands, and the date change function. If we notice anything unusual at this stage, we'll investigate it thoroughly along with replacing the battery. At the same time, we'll also check the condition of the exterior.

  2. Waterproof function check

  We also check the water resistance using an air pressure testing device! An air pressure testing device is an essential piece of equipment for watch repair shops that can check the airtightness of a watch by applying high and low pressure to it. If the water resistance does not meet the expected level at this point, it may be due to deterioration of the gaskets, etc. We will suggest replacement to the customer as necessary.

  3. Opening the back cover

  We use specialized equipment to open the back cover.
  The case back of a watch is securely fitted to prevent it from coming loose during use. Furthermore, models with high water resistance or magnetic resistance may have special structures such as screw-back cases or inner cases within the main case. Therefore, it is absolutely not recommended for the average customer or repair shop without the necessary expertise to open the case back. Additionally, careful handling is required to avoid scratching or abrading the case back.

  4. Accuracy, electrical characteristics, and residual magnetism check

  As mentioned at the beginning, we pride ourselves on our battery replacement service, which also includes maintenance. We pay particular attention to checking the movement.
  The circuit that converts the vibrations of the quartz crystal oscillator into electrical signals and translates them into precise hand movements plays a crucial role in this movement, much like the "muscles" of the watch. Any malfunction here will significantly affect performance and accuracy.
  The general procedure for checking a quartz watch involves using a dedicated rate measuring instrument to check its accuracy and thoroughly examining the electrical characteristics of the circuit. Since failing to accurately assess the electrical characteristics could lead to using the wrong battery, this requires advanced knowledge from the repair technician.
  Additionally, if any magnetism remains in the circuit, we will also perform demagnetization.

  5. Apply silicone grease to the crown gasket.

  To ensure smooth operation of the crown and gaskets, we will apply silicone grease (silicone liquid lubricant).
  Applying too much can cause interference with surrounding parts, while applying too little will prevent it from performing as intended... Even with something as simple as silicone grease, delicate yet precise technique is required.
  If any dirt or dust is found on any of the parts at this time, ultrasonic cleaning will be performed.

  6. Battery replacement

  Now it's time to change the batteries!
  Many button batteries are tiny, only a few millimeters in size. This requires delicate and careful work using tweezers. No scratches or fingerprints can be left on other parts or components. At the same time, speed is also crucial to prevent foreign objects from entering the movement.

  7. Accuracy and Electrical Characteristics Check

  We thoroughly check the accuracy and electrical characteristics even after replacing the battery.
  If the required accuracy is not achieved, it means that some kind of malfunction has occurred. Of course, the hands of skilled technicians are infallible, but this does not mean that the rigorous inspection process is stopped.
  Once the measurement is complete, quickly close the back cover.

  8. Operation check

  We will then actually operate the watch to check that there are no problems with the crown operation, hand movement, or date setting. At this time, we will also set the time, as the high precision is a major attraction of quartz watches. Therefore, we will set it precisely down to the second.

  9. Waterproof function check

  Finally, after checking the waterproofness again with the air pressure testing device, the battery replacement is complete!
  Some customers are surprised by the rigorous and multi-layered checking system we have in place. Of course, we also inspect each watch just before returning it to you, so please feel free to entrust your precious timepiece to us with confidence.
